I cannot imagine my Language Arts class without this fabulous resource! Review by Karla

I use Grammar Rulz with my 7th graders and it is the perfect way to start each class. The students look forward to it, and as a Humanities teacher, I think it's an ideal tool for teaching grammar and conventions in context, not to mention an excellent way to get the students focused and ready to learn.

The students love the fact that they have a concrete number of conventions errors to look for, and that they can come up to either the white board or the SMART board to make the corrections after they have made them on their own papers. And I love the fact that I can lead in to teaching mini-lessons about rules of punctuation, capitalization, and usage. Later, I can connect those same lessons to their own writing.

In addition, each set of lessons is a story filled with elements of high interest for middle schoolers. While studying medieval Europe in Social Studies class, students get a story filled with romance and intrigue about the Middle Ages for their daily grammar work.

Each lesson takes only a few minutes but can be expanded as needed to further discuss the rules associated with the lesson of the day. Each lesson also contains a vocabulary word and a chance to differentiate instruction for students who need a little extra challenge.

In short, I cannot imagine my Language Arts class without this invaluable tool!
