Build Staff Capacity to Teach Writing!

Maupin House now offers schools and districts a full range of options for quality in-service training tailored to meet your writing instruction challenges.

We tailor sessions to meet the needs of both beginning and advanced writing teachers, to make the most of the reciprocal link between reading and writing, to prepare students for assessments, and to share a comprehensive approach to writing education.

Sessions concentrate on building staff capacity to explicitly teach writing workshop that incorporates writing process, writing-craft skills, and conventions.

Training options are available for half-day through week-long professional institutes. Multiple-visit contracts spanning visits over several years can be developed. In-service professional training can be developed for teachers and coaches.

For each in-service, Maupin House trainers conduct a detailed needs assessment to develop and deliver quality sessions that match and respond to your learning objectives and learning settings.

• Intensive workshops with grade-level teachers
• Demonstration lessons
• Hands-on sessions with small groups

Maupin House sessions are eligible for Title 1 support.
