Writing Workshop

Make the most of your writing time—in language arts or content-area instruction—with resources that show you how to teach writing skills explicitly, develop a writing community, and improve your literacy instruction.

Our writing workshop resources for primary, elementary, middle, and high school include lesson plans, worksheets, templates, rubrics, strategies, literature response ideas, fiction, nonfiction and vocabulary prompts and models, and much more to help your students analyze and respond to literature. So whether they're writing persuasive, comparison, or expository essays and exercises, learning new vocabulary, reading for author's purpose, or exploring narrative, expository, and creative writing, our books offer support.

Maupin House writing resources cover instruction in all assessed genres and give students lots of opportunities to practice writing Target Skills using student, teacher, and mentor text models. You can find mentor texts for fiction and non-fiction, as well as Spanish literature models in many of our writing workshop resources. Improve comprehension and meet English language arts standards with daily writing lessons. The state writing aseessment, mentor models, comprehension games and strategies, daily writing prompts, writing mini-lessons, graphic organizers and writing exercises are all a part of the workshop.

Whether you're supporting emergent and young writers as they develop basic literacy skills or instructing college-bound students as they write their college entrance essays, Maupin House has something you can use.
