Brod Bagert

Brod Bagert

Like a poetic Johnny Appleseed, Brod Bagert travels America, visiting schools and conferences with the message that poetry comes alive for children when they perform it. His own poems are often funny, sometimes sad, and always highly performable. Brod has published 15 books of poetry for children and adults. His book Giant Children (Dial, 2004) was nominated for the 2005 K-3 Children's Choice Award.

To book Brod for a conference or school visit, go to Brod's website at www.brodbagert.com, contact Melissa Kernion at 1-800-999-9652 or info@brodbagert.com, or call Maupin House at 800-524-0634.

Maupin House Publishing is proud to announce that Hormone Jungle has won both the Association of Educational Publishers Distinguished Achievement Award and the Independent Publisher Gold Book Award.

For eleven years, the annual Independent Publisher Awards (“IPPY” Awards) have honored the year's best independently published titles. This year’s “IPPY” Awards included 2,690 national entries from all fifty states, eight Canadian provinces, and seventeen countries overseas. Hormone Jungle won the Gold Book Award in the Education/Academic/Teaching category.

The Association of Educational Publishers’ Distinguished Achievement Awards recognize the year's most outstanding materials in the field of teaching and learning.
