Like a poetic Johnny Appleseed, Brod Bagert travels America, visiting schools and conferences with the message that poetry comes alive for children when they perform it. His own poems
are often funny, sometimes sad, and always highly
performable. Brod has published 15 books of poetry for
children and adults. His book Giant
Children (Dial, 2004) was nominated for the 2005 K-3
Children's Choice Award.
